Control Solution is a glucose meter specific solution that's used to ensure the blood glucose monitor system is working properly. Every blood glucose meter uses a control solution made specifically for that particular glucose meter or brand of meters. Each glucose monitor will specify a glucose range of results, typically a low to high range, and usually located on the bottle (vial) of test strips which will be labeled something similar to "Control Solution Range". To ensure the glucose meter is working properly, the control solution test result should fall within the recommended glucose range found on the test strip vial. Control solution should be used as the first test with a brand new meter.

Advanced Diabetes Supply is proud to bring a wide range of lancing devices from top manufactures including OneTouch, AccuChek, FreeStyle, Prodigy, and more. Diabetic lancets are used to puncture the skin to get a blood sample that you test to determine how much glucose is in your blood. They are usually made of sharp steel encased in hard plastic and come in various gauges. A higher gauge produces a smaller puncture and may be less painful. With some lancets you prick yourself, but others are spring-loaded and pierce your skin without any help from you. Once your skin is punctured, you gently kneed the area to coax a drop of blood to the surface.

Insulin syringes are made specifically for self injections and have friendly features: shorter needles, as insulin injections are subcutaneous (under the skin) rather than intramuscular, finer gauge needles, for less pain, and. markings in insulin units to simplify drawing a measured dose of insulin.
